Currently the ranch supports 150 cow calf pairs, with a capacity to run
up to 200 with the present hay base and range leases. This is an
impressive herd of commercial Hereford cow/calf pairs with five
registered Hereford bulls and 1 black angus bull.
The calving barn is equipped with power, a warming room
and cattle squeeze. There are nine 12 x 12 calving stalls with a 11 foot
alley for ease of cleaning and feeding. The adjacent hay barn houses up
to 400, 1500lb round bales.
During the summer months the cattle range out on the
Poplar and Pelican rangelands, an area of some 160,000 acres of rangeland and wilderness.
The cattle have become accustomed to the
terrain and are well adjusted to the routine of moving up the mountain
in the spring and returning back home in the fall.
Water Access and Licenses
All pens are accessible to water on the Nataniko Creek. The ranch holds first rights for the water usage on this creek that flows throughout the property.
