#262 Meet Canada’s Pro-Oil, Anti-Immigrant Yellow Vest Movement
What do warnings of globalism, support for pipelines and calls to execute Trudeau have in common? They're all part of the rhetoric of the Canadian Yellow Vests. CANADALAND producer David Crosbie investigates how a French working class protest against a fuel tax has inspired a right-wing, populist movement holding recurring rallies across Canada.

UPDATED Monday, January 28th:

Since recording this episode, Tyler Malenfant responded to CANADALAND’s questions via a series of Facebook messages. He says he created the Yellow Vests Canada Facebook group “because Canada needs serious fundamental changes to be made.” In reference to offensive comments on the page, he claims Anti-Racist Canada’s screenshots are “fake” and says: “We remove posts that cross the line when they pop up, some Times [sic] it takes a bit of Time to take it down but when we see it we take it down.”

This episode is sponsored by HelloFresh, Endy and Blinkist.
